Its all a fiddle but as she has already pleaded guilty there is nothing more to be done. Anyone who pleads guilty to this nonsense anymore is just not awake IMO.

Maybe the Scammers are feeling the pinch, Christmas parties, overtime etc or they're catching fewer people nowadays but I think they're just greedy, money-grabbing ba$tards.

Did she receive a court summons (to which she pleaded guilty), or did she accept the conditional offer on the original NIP?

Did she even receive a NIP?

I thought court costs were an extra ~£35 if pleading guilty by post before the trial (after having rejected the conditional offer on the NIP).

Something not right there Tonker as in a 30 limit, 35 to 49 attracts a Conditional offer - £60 and 3 points -with no Court involvement.

Has she misread the speed or have they have upped the speed on paper to get it to Court or was there other offences involved so that CO could not be issued?.

Need to debrief her very carefully and fully....

If she got a court date then she wouldn't get the normal £60 fine surely? The question is why she got the court date, maybe the Scameraship view 12mph over in a 30 zone as too serious for the normal FPN? After all, there don't seem to be any hard and fast rules, just "guidlines"

Does she have any existing points? I seem to remember that if you are likely to be disqualified due to totting up it goes before the court rather than by FPN.

...which could be that she has received the fine for that person instead of herself?

I very good point. If they had picked up someones case file, yet entered the outcome into a different computer file, this would be a very good explanation. If nothing else it does show that they arnt exactly hot on administration...

tonker Liebchen - she needs to query this. Perhaps letter to prat manager in Blackburn...seem to recall reading or seeing something about admin mistakes in past .... ca 2003/early 2004 in Lancashire press - lost NIPs und court fines und so on due to volume of ticket issues Cannot remember what happened -only a line about things being tightened up ... May or may not be admin blip Has she proof of postage? (certificate from post office or recorded delivery slip? How long before she receive word of this after sending her completed form? Did she remember to sign it ?

Ist just some thing to ask - gently probing- to get to bottom und help if unfaair fine...
