I'm looking into buying a built kit-car, with a budget of £3000. I was just wondering if anyone has any advice about what's best to go for, if anything, and what's best to avoid in that price range?

Thanks

Sam

You'd get a nice dutton for that. I'd avoid a robin hood like the plague personally.

Are robin hoods really that bad? I keep on hearing really bad things about them, but never quite worked out specifically what makes them so rubbish!

Go to a kit car show and have a look at some from the owners club and make up your own mind.

TBH 3k isn't much money for a kit and I know RHs are in that money but personally I'd be looking at a dutton or a marlin (someone on here has one).

I would be looking keenly at this...

...with an eye on upgrading the engine as and when funds allowed.

I might go and have a look at this...

...but it is quite visually challenging imo.

I quite like this too...

Good luck,

I have no connection with either car, but the Locost is a lovely little thing and the K3 is a lot of car for the money.......

I will second the dutton idea. Great to get into kitcars and the club are great.
