Aahhhh. I've been caught! Yes it was Santa Pod yesterday. Decided I wanted to have a go having missed out on the last one. Last minute decision.

It was good fun - much quieter than last time. Car attracted lots of attention with many requests for work on other cars.

Times were not all that great though as panic tended to set in on the lights.

My best run of the day was:

13.937 @ 103.41 mph. Oh yeah and a crap 2.3 60ft. If I can sort the launch out I'm sure I could get much lower. The car lost traction and squealed like a pig in all changes right up to 4th!!

Car was well prepped and toppped with Zymol Destiny. If anyone is serious then I will consider a detail for you. Will take at least 6-8 hours with swirl removal.

Brian that is a very clean car.

I would like my Black to shine like that.....

I use Zymol but I don't think its the Destiny range ???

It just says Zymol on the front. Its a mint/green coloured polish & smells like a hair shampoo

Is this the same as the one you use ?

Cheers

Thanks for all the nice comments. Rob, black is an awesome colour to shine up. It gets the best results, but only after a lot of hard work. It looks like you have the Titanium Glaze at a guess? Good stuff.

Here's a pic of what can be achieved.

Thanks mcd, I've had the CAI and short shifter as well as the cat-back, still standard headers though All the work has been done by Paul from Wortec, I can't thank him enough - this proves what a great job he's done for me. They really are the dogs nads when it comes to Monaros.

Booster,

WOW! Where's my sunglasses? Great work mate. Maybe one day I could have a car as good as that. What polisher do you use?

I've managed to get reasonable results from the clay & Maguiers Next Gen Polish but nothing as good as that.

P47ThBolt,

You can also purchase the Redline Water Wetter from Demon Tweeks:

www.demon-tweeks.co.uk/products/ProductDetail.asp?cls=MSPORT&pcode=RED80204

£9.99 + VAT + Delivery

I got 2 bottles at the same time as the Whiteline Strut Brace.

Checked out the zymol stuff. My god, cosmetics for the car, definitely going to be alot better looked after cars than Mrs's.

I use Zaino and get an equally good shine although these pics don't really show it 'cos it wasn't as bright and sunny

www.advancedcarproducts.co.uk/index.asp?id=34

Advanced are where to go to get the Zaino stuff too - Rob & Mark are good chaps.

Actually it wasn't at all sunny, it was completly overcast and the racing was stopped at one point because of rain. Just goes to show how good this zymol is, although of course it doesn't matter how good the wax is if you don't do the prep. I use Zaino as well, very good stuff but the best investement has to be a Porter Cable Dual action rotary polisher. I think Paul's got one as well, another closet car detailer too

If you are serious about detailing you must have a Porter cable...........
