I know it's been done to death (search isn't working).

Apart from the obvious HPI/Garage inspection etc Id like a nice weather car.

For overall reliability/enjoyment which spec is the one to go for-manual or F1 and is it a case of buying the latest year available as opposed to the early cars. I don't want to spend more than 75k

Also any thoughts on the best dealers to source?

Thanks in advance

Latest you can afford.

Go on to ferrarichat.com - check out the classifieds and ask the guys in the UK forum, in particular Stimo360. He is selling his as he has just got a 430.

One more thing, tell them I sent you across so they will take your request seriously, as there have been a few cases of trolling just recently!

Burwoodman - sorry for trolling your post earlier. I too at one point or another faced a similar dilema = 550 v 360. In summary, the 550 would be easier to live with if you prefer torque to high revs. I think it will also be more useable. On the minus side it will be more expensive to run, and if I am honest its not really that much of a headturner. It stands out next to say a Vectra but it hasnt got the WOW factor of even a TR. The 360 is OK but this too is not as much of a head turner as it could have been. Some guys have also reported that you really need to rev it hard to get the power out of it - it depends on your driving style. Me personally Im a torque man. With the 550 I came to the conclusion that a CL55 would do 85% of what the 550 does (looks, speed etc) at a fraction of the cost. And dont forget that BMW 645s will be becoming quite cheap in a few more years.

what are you on, buy a Merc or a BMW instead of a Ferrari. This is just pure crap.

Mate, you want a ferrari, dont listen to this moron, go and find the one you want, test drive them and find the right car for you.

NO Merc or BMW will ever come even close to a Ferrari, Lambo etc, its like comparing 747 to a jet fighter ! Ridiculous

By the way this guy has trolled on F-Chat, just go read some of the threads so please dont listen to it.

People like him contribute to what has happened on F-Chat, stiring things up all the time. Thanks Mate

Burwoodman, I went through the 550 vs 360 debate after I sold my 355.

I ended up with the 360 because the 550 was way to civilised for me.

I would say both cars are excellent and can be used on a daily basis but the 360 will atract a lot more attention which means you have to think a bit more about where you leave it.

The 550 is definitely a high quality GT and the 360 more of a racer, both extremely fast but in different ways.

I know my next comment will get some owners backs up but I really see the 550/575 as cars I'd own when I'm in my 40's and stick with the V8's though my 20's and 30's.

so you think that a 360 in any colour, year, mileage, spec, condition etc are all worth under £65k ?

I have a feeling your views and comments might not be taken seriously on here !!! Joker

I realise that this is not the best place to get an ubiased opinion, but I have been closely watching 360 prices for the last couple of years, with the aim to buying when the price is right.

If you look in a publication like Top Marques, at the moment there are about three times as many 360s for sale than there was a year or even a few months ago. Probably some affect must be had to the supply and demand of them due to the fact there are a lot more on the market as some of the original 1999 and 2000 owners now upgrading to a 430.

I have seen a LHD 360 with 10k for £52K. If you are looking for a RHD there are plenty under £65 even some under £60K.

The problem is merely supply and demand, there seems that there are plenty more sellers than buyers. Whilst some of them are speculatively putting their car up for sale to see if they get a good price, a lot *have* to sell, and the only way to stand out in a saturated market would be to drop the price.

Of course, you cannot get every 360 for £65k but ufoufo is essentially right! You could spend £20k more on an example with a slightly higher spec an a couple of year newer, but when these cars are at the bargain prices they are, it takes a lot to justify the additional expense.

You could also buy a £65k 360 and end of having loads of problems and having to spend £10k sorting out serious problems. Or buy a £70k that has never gone wrong and is in perfect condition !

I know which i would prefer.
