how the hell do i connect my phone to my pc?

i have a samsung d600,with the supplied usb cable, but when i plug them both in, the pc will not read the phone. As in the samsung software to view the files can not connect to the computer.

is their any option on the phone that i need to select to get this to work?


also how do i get my sent messages to be saved automatically, at the moment they just dissappear

Is there a driver for the phone that you need to install??

sequence of installation is the key to this probably

did you install software first and them plug in phone ?

or other way round ?


with most USB apps you normally have to install the software and the machine reboots and then you connect hardware and it will detect it , it may be worth trying the opposite way to what you did it ,uninstall the software first .

Did you install the driver BEFORE or AFTER you plugged the phone in? can make all the difference.

If you plugged the phone in first it may not recognise it. If you go into device manager you may see a yellow question mark in the list telling you you have an unknown device installed. right click it and remove then start again.
