Classic American always gets best results for American cars but you're looking at the December issue now out at the end of November. You can do it on-line.

SO far, I have advertised in autotrader, and piston heads, hope it goes well, I am a bit skeptical, it seems like no one wants to buy a C5, anyone know why the decline in sales???

The arrival of the C6 and i get the feeling a lot of people are saving their pennies for the new C6 Z06,a real super car @ a good price.

If it's the same ad, isn't the one car not yet SVA'd and registered? If so, you'll be far better off doing that first. You also mention a split in the seat and scuffing of the paint from shipping. A lot of Corvette owners are absolutely anal about condition so it's often better to get it done first.

There are also a lot of C5 Corvettes out there for sale. The sports car market is a small one which automatically excludes a lot of people who have to put practicality above desire and can't afford a toy asa luxury. Now factor in the LHD and you eliminate about 70% of that market, if not more. What you end up with is a lot of Corvettes chasing not many buyers.

When I sold my Z06, it unhappily coincided with 4 other Z06's being sold. Prices tumbled from near £40k to less than £28k and it was either keep the car or sell it for less.

i hope the C4's arent going to see a similair downfall in prices, but those cheap jap imports arent helping. why are they so cheap by the way ?

As I understand it, the Japanese are very strict with used cars. After so many years, the cars fail their rigorous tests or they're outlawed and become effectively scrap. That's why all the low mileage Japanese engines get taken out of the cars and get exported for sale in other countries. Meanwhile the nice cars are bought for peanuts and exported to countries where they are sold.

lets hope the japs didnt buy a lot of vettes then otherwise, the C4 could see a similair price fall to the supras/skylines/mx5's etc
