I already have a 300D and am considering buying another body.

The Canon outlet on ebay sells 10D bodies for £425.

Do you think this would be a better buy than a 350D? 10D obviously a bit older - but better built?

Any thoughts?

Not sure how the 10D compares to the 20D... however, a friend of mine who just bought a 20D a few months ago had a first look at my 350D the other night and basically concluded "damn it, I should have bought a 350D"

Apply the firmware hack to the 300D and get the 350.

Alternatively sell the 300D and buy a 20D unless you really need a 2nd body.

But you wouldn't get 8mp with the hack...

Plus, I wonder what the 300D is worth - £250?

You won't get 8mp with a 10D either

He'd recently upgraded from 300D to 20D because he's semi-professional and wanted (a) the extra features the 20D has over the 300D and (b) the extra robustness.

Whilst the 350D doesn't give the same robustness, I think he concluded that all the extra features he wanted were there.

Fair enough, personally find the robustness of the 20d were worth the cost. Found the 300d/350d a bit 'light' and also smaller to handle (got big mits !!)
