Need some advise.

Autotorque will only insure myself, but not another person to drive my car at Rockingham (i.e my wife).
Any ideas who will insure both of us? Competition Car Insurance have been suggested but at huge cost.

I know time is short - Chris at Autotorque just will not call you back.
Thanks
Keith

keith,

I have managed to get through to Chris twice without any problems. However I do still await the paperwork.

If it's not with me today i will have to kick off.

I paid £138 for 2 people for friday.
Ok, it's more than Autotorque's £50 but it is for 2 and they were mega efficient. My pack of stuff arrived the next morning and they couldn't have been more helpful on the phone.

You might have to bite the bullet and pay the extra mate

Happy to pay £138 Owen - who was this with? Autotorque will insure main driver only.

That's with Competition Car Insurance and I don't have a road policy with them.
It's the cheap option of the ones they do. It covers 2 under 30 drivers for the day with £2,800 excess and £14,000 damage cover. Can't remember exactly, but I think it's about £250 - £300 for £30k cover.

Thanks Owen, booked with C C I. With a £4.5k excess I intend to be very careful on the wet track.

Still haven't got my paperwork but spoke with Chris yesterday and taped the call
he confirmed I'm covered and the dosh has gone out of the account. Don't wait for him to ring you back cos he wont. You must get on his case and make yourself a pain IMHO

Had to get him to fax mine. He eventually did after chasing him for two hours. Pain in the arse but for £50 I hope it will be ok if I need to claim !

I went for the CCI in the end too. I have a lot more faith that I will be able to get hold of them if something bad happens*

* I'm not sure whether it's tempting fate to print out the claim form and bring it with me on the day, but I've never got insurance for a trackday before

I'm with AutoTourque for my normal road insurance but they refused to insure me for Friday.

I'm 35 and I have full NCD. 6 points.

How is anyone getting £50 track day insurance from them?????

You need the form, as if anything happens it needs to be signed by a marshal.

You'd have to have got trackday cover when you bought the policy originally. Only some underwriters will offer it, and generally they aren't competitive for road only usage.
