Digi Happy-Snappy & printer
Discussion
The wife wants a digi-camera for Christmas and have been looking at what's available but there's just TOOO much to choose from!
She needs it to be easy to use and ideally, comes with printer (like the Kodak easyshare).
Any suggestions?
There's a deal on a Kodak CX7525 at the mo. for £179 with printer that's got my attention...

Why spend money on a printer that only prints up to 6" x 4" when you probably already have an inkjet that will do just as well up to A4 (or can buy one for less)?
I do, but that involves use of the PC with associated cals to me saying "it won't work, it's saying paper jam?" etc.etc.

Would prefer a printer that works without a PC. The pics she wants only need to be 6" by 4" anyway. Any larger and I'll do them on the PC.
Lots of choice - little info to help narrow it down.
Just a thought, but while those little printers can be quite "nifty" - you could get an A4 printer, to pretty good quality linked up to your PC. And that'll even be one that takes memory cards direct if you need to. IMHO this is a better route for your printing needs, unless you need ultimate in protability.
As to which camera, look for at least a half decent bit of optics on the front and something which fits in the hand as comfortably as you like, with controls that fall easily to the fingertips and do expected things. Nothing to put you off using the little beast like it being completely unhandlable or unfathomable!
Edited to add: D'oh - someone got there first. But you can still get them that take the card directly and use "Pictbridge" or whatever it is. My Epson R300 does (even though I've not used it that way....)

Well, the customer is always right - suggest you look at all the cameras at www.dpreview.com just to cast the net fully and see if there's anything that fits your bill better than the Kodak. If there isn't, then you can get the Kodak
