Mrs Smoke wants a holiday. It will be in Jan/Feb and for a week. Hotel or SC, not fussy. Needs to be warm (read hot) enough to get in the pool. But not so hot that it's unbearable. One other thing is out two year old son will be coming too. He is easy to please -likes beach/pool,etc. Doesn't need to be constantly entertained, he'll happily play in a sandpit by himself for hours if you see what I mean.

We thought about Red Sea - Sharm is cheap (obviously after the events this year) or Tunisia.

Anyone any experiences or thoughts?

We had a last minute deal to Barbados when our first was 2.
She was fine, spent all day playing with a watering can in the pool.

Trouble was it was just at the time of Gulf War 2 so no Americans flying, hence the cheap price

How did you get on with the flight? 10 hours with a two year old balanced on my knee/wanting to take the plane apart doesn't sound like fun to me.

We had to get a seat for her. It wasn't full price, about a third I think.

It was on BA so tv in back of seat for her to watch. Staff were great, had a free goodie bag for her and were happy for her to have a "stretch of the legs" in the galley area.

She also slept for several hours which was a big bonus.

Also a dose of Calpol may induce drowsiness

How about Tenerife.
I'm off to Orlando with our 2 year old in Jan. The weather should be good there as well (i hope).

Thought about the Canaries, but I like it 25+ and last time I did the Canaries in January it was warm, but not warm enough to swim.

Red Sea is looking good so far.
