Lot of unpleasantness at PH in the last few days - not from TVR members, but notably two outsiders who have sought to wind everybody up (one who thinks a TVR on a ditch is funny - see spotted TVRs, and one porsche owner - nuff said) and lots about keying cars in the general gassing section.

Don't let them put you off, the guy with the porsche is no more than 14 years old & the geezeer with the Volvo is no less than a 114 years old.
In his defence,I don't think he was laughing, he just couldn't see the point of putting a "spotted" up.

This site has deteriorated significantly in the last year or so. There used to be a lot of banter (friendly stuff) and good information. GG used to be just that and then split to include P+P - fair enough, but apart from the fools going on about keying cars,etc threads which rightly or wrongly get locked, there are two threads running on P+P about Mrs Fish a) not being able to take sprog swimming and b) getting stung by a wasp. Both have run over two pages, most posts being simpering rubbish.
Where have all the adults on this site gone?

I am sorry to hear that but dont let the comments of a couple of people put you off PH. You are going to get Trolls etc now and again and I believe PH normally deals with it quite well whether with moderators our the PH community dealing with them
. Just spend a bit of time on other forums and you'll see what I mean.. As for threads in the Pie and Piston.
General Gassing was getting lots of Non Motoring Threads in, Which with this being a Motoring site isnt too good.
It could be of been Moderated and all non motoring stuff deleted etc But I Think you have got to have some diversity now and again. That is why I think Pand P was opened to keep the Motoring Forums Motoring related and a place to let your hair down(if you have any
). At the end of the Day if you dont want to see non motoring stuff Dont go in P and P, Computers and stuff etc etc.

I don't think it's quite as simple as "don't go into P&P if you don't like reading bollox", BB.
There are a lot of threads even in GG that are of limited interest - I remember when I started here, getting one of my threads deleted because it wasn't of "general interest" to 30,000 members or whatever it was... and I could see the point, to be fair.
Or at least I could, then. Things have changed. I could go on to give examples, but to be honest I can't be bothered sifting through the rubbish again to find the one or two topics of interest.
I nearly deleted this post rather than submitting it, because I'm really not all that bothered, I'll read what I like and disregard the rest - it just takes longer to sift now than it used to{/small]

I agree with a lot of this too which is why my posting ratio went down from around 500 posts per month to about 3. (Not exagerated figures).
Seem to be lots of non car enthusiasts here now but plenty of experts taught by google/forums etc.
Now I tend to use the Griff forum as a database for finding info on maintanence etc and everynow and then catch the occcasional other thread whilst doing it.
Usually though I last a few mins and then get fed up with the way PH has gone and switch it off.
Been in a bad mood all day today though so thought Id log on to read threads and laugh at all the "experts!".
Notice how they never list what cars they own in their profiles? Funny how when pushed they seem to mostly claim to own supercars too!
So, apart from that I go to a Honda forum or just do some work instead! Got loads more done this year!
PS: And I also found that the TVR forums had the same old cycle of threads time and again. ("what tyres", "what should TVR build next", "I just locked myself out the car" etc).
On the Honda forum they tend to tell people to do a search and then remove the thread after they have got the message. It keeps the forum nice and clean and with accurate concise information which can still be updated and is easy to find.

well not to take anything away from this site, as I dont have a problem, I just read the threads that I would be interested in, but if its technical info your after then try the BHPWORLD forums, the threads dont get locked and they dont have the sort of thing that you mention on here either. www.bhpworld.com

The chim and griff forums are better than most but even the friendly banter of Golf Carts and Chest Wigs has died down as people seem to scared to post.
To be honest I was looking at a buying a Tuscan but the forum (and Speed Six) is a free for all and its put me right off the idea (more so than the engine) - Griff LE maybe instead now

I'm not aware of a TVR Owners Club, the TVRCC is a members club, ie open to those who don't own TVRs but have an interest, the forum is a service provided to members at no additional charge.
Yep, fair comment. We've had a spate of trolling off another site of late which has been somewhat testing for all of us.
Sorry if people aren't frequenting PH because of this but we're working hard to maintain decorum whilst still letting people vent steam. It's a difficult balance and I'm well aware that we don't always get it right.
The TVR forums have been a bit stale of late and that's largely because of the lack of news in the TVR world and the end of the summer meaning less events.
The former we'll be addressing though, we've been in touch with TVR today...
