Sorry, not at all Wedge related but I need help!

Evening all, I'm sorry I know it's not Wedge related, but you're all helpful types round here so thought I'd have a quick ask :D
So, a couple of weeks or so ago I decide I need a practical car, so buy a cheap Vectra. All fine apart from a faulty camshaft sensor and an oil leak........
I thought it was the sump gasket, so replaced that and....turns out it's not. Now my latest theory is it's the crankshaft oil seal, the one at the gearbox end. Someone tell me there's a well known bodge that saves having to remove the transmission to fix it? please? That'll take days! Or lots of money, neither of which I wish to spend on a Vectra!

I'm sorry, I feel bad about it too 
but I'm back at work next week and want a quick fix as I've got a Midget in the garage I want to fix! Sorry, I meant to say I need to work on the Wedge.......
I'll have a look for this seal bodging additive and see if I can find anything useful, thanks

Called Engine Oil Stop Leak, as mentioned (technical term)rejuvernates seals (non tech swells them up). Its available from nearly any motor factors as the car sales type buy it by the crate full along with Engine Stop Smoke!! Loads of chemical companies make it such as Wynns or Comma.
VECTRA? NO NO NO!!!
Another thing to check with any engine oil leak is whether the crank case is being pressurised, the best seals in the world won't stop oil leaking then.
First thing to check is whether the breathers are unobstructed - clean them all out with petrol. Make sure there aren't any air leaks in the pipework that scavenges crankcase air and feeds it into the intake.
Finally a compression test might reveal whether your rings are blowing by (ooh err...)

Thanks Adam, I realise I'll be ridiculed about this for weeks and never taken seriously again, if I ever were in the first place
I've checked both breather pipes on it, both are clear but still it leaks. I wouldn't mind the leak in itself, but it gets blown back onto the exhaust when driving, resulting in a fair bit of smoke coming out the bonnet. It's seeping out between the sump and the transmission, crank seal is about the only thing I can think of round there........
