Ok so you take one elise, you add the engine from a gsxr 1000 then add another gsxr 1000 engine and because that wasnt good enough, you add a turbo.

and this is pretty radical

Holy sh*t - that thing accelerates like a SC atom. Bye bye! Where do you get one and how soon can I have one. Though sensibly you will probably need an engine rebuild every 10000 miles.

That second video is quite something - looks like he was fighting to control the power and the car seems to pull to the right under power. I wonder how it compares to Walshy's 550 bhp 2.4l V8 SC.

whats it running - about 300bhp?

the RST-V8 is 300-340bhp depending on trim...very light....but when you can have a 330bhp Audi 1.8T for £11K versus £25K for the V8 inc box and fitting its a lot of money to pay for the noise.........

thats bull...... - in road trim its 320bhp...over 130bhp per litre...adn it weighs no more than the K series...but you need a £4K gearbox, the engine is upwards of £15K (TBC)...+ fitting and ancillaries...ive investigated it and decided it was for millionaires or people that want to race. Sinclaires are doing the 1st Elise just for the fun of it as a promo car which hopefully Walshy will drive.

Bogie - according to Andy, the engine he is getting is the 2.4l version of the V8 and for added measure (insanity) is supercharged. He reckoned it would give 550bhp. Is he being optimistic?

RE Gooby's clips - they are running a forced induction V8 mage from 2 suzuki GSXR 1000 blocks. Those engines in bike form give around 175 bhp. The 1.5l derivative of the suzuki hayabusa engine in the radical gives 250 bhp NA and can be turboed to 500bhp (usually 400-450) There is a twin engined ultima floating around with near enough to 1000bhp! I don't see a reason why they could not be boosted to 400-500bhp for the couple of hours of their useable lifespan.

Not that any of these are for the road - I would imagine the gearbox etc would be hell in town. Not to mention performance at low revs. You probably have the best compromise. I liked the idea of the Audi 1.8T, but that is a heavy lump of pig iron that can't do a lot for the handling. I might be wrong - walshy even reckoned he could feel the handling difference with the honda elise, though he said that stiffer rear springs sorted it out.

ahhh right - didnt mention anything to me about having the V8 supercharged

The Audi/Honda Elises handle just fine - they run stiffer springs...and come in at 815Kg...hardly heavyweight (just compare that to a 111R)with identical weight distribution to a std car...I run 400f/550r springs n Nitrons...a car in this configuration set the fastest lap time of all the tuned Elises at the Tuner GP this year...enough said

Actually I remember looking at that - you do have a quick car! I think in retrospect he was referring to a coule of S1's running the honda on standard suspension. With the adjustability of the nitrons, ans the coice of spring settings, you should be able to get exactly what you want re handling.

I had thought that the honda sits lower than the k series anyway (and further forward) - I can't see how that could be bad.
