I have some pictures that I have saved from my digital camera onto my PC that I cannot seem to open in say, Windows Picture and Fax Viewer, or Windows Media Player. It also seems that if I were to email these to others, they too are unable to see them. The pictures are saved in a MIX format.

Which is the easiest fix for this?...a download to allow me to open them, or a clever way of converting them?

Any help appreiciated. :)

Use the software that came with your camera to convert it to a jpg format.

Surely your camera can be set to record JPG images?

This sounds like the file format used by MS PhotoDraw, so they must have been converted somewhere along the line during or after download. I'm sure the Ixus would not use this fomat internally.

There are some viewing and conversion options on this link

That's odd, because DPReview only lists it as JPEG and nothing else
