Do a search, seriously, I've written tomes already about how they sound. In short, they are undiluted mentalism and surely can't be road legal, despite Fabspeed's claims to the contrary.

The downside is the severe resonance on a light throttle between 2-3k rpm which makes them seriously unpleasant for cruising. Simply beautiful sound when driving hard, though

NB they are a *lot* louder than the promo videos available from Fabspeed on the internet.

Incidentally the main reason I sold them wasn't because they were unbearable to me, but because I expected them to *become* unbearable once I'd supercharged the 993, that and the impossibility of getting them onto track days.

I have the Fabspeed Supercups on my '95 C2. They were measured at 109.7dBA at 5250RPM at Castle Coombe last year. Needless to say I didn't get on the track ...

There appears to be a pressure wave that hits it's harmonic frequency at just under 3000rpm but once past this it drops off almost immediately. Sound is awesome though and definitely louder than the Fabspeed videos suggest.

But they sound really fantastic don't they??? Shame about track day noise regs. Without the 2-3k brain melting resonance they'd be pretty much the best sounding pipes *ever* - but as you point out, no chance on pretty much any track day.

Much like de-catted AJP8 Cerberas no doubt. Superb sound, but sheer sound pressure too much for the NIMBY-regulated track days... hell I wish I could afford to race one of these things...

Next year my 993 will (hopefully) be in good shape for track days, so we will see whether the air cooled motor, Cargraphic pipes, supercharger and cone air filter pass muster at tracks in the south east... if not then I've got some serious thinking to do...

right. just pickedup my 993 tonight. it is brilliant.
it has techart rear boxez on it which sound brilliant from behiond the car ie they pop and bang and are pretty much aces but the sound doesnr really travel into the cockpit..what i'd like to know is whether supercups stand the hairs on the back of your neck up from teh drivers seat or is it the case that its only really an audible feast for the (un)lucky soul thats following you....

If you want serious noise in the cockpit, then Supercups will most certainly do the job

When I was looking at 993s before I bought my C4S one of the cars I saw had a Supercup exhaust system. It was silly loud - WWII-vets-diving-for-cover loud. I don't mind a bit of throaty sports rumpus but it was way way over the odds for me; sounded like someone had managed to stuff a pair of microlights up the exhaust pipes...;-)
