Does this sound too "heavy" bit too late as I've sent it but it really is annoying after a 10 day auction and having paid the fees for listing and the commision.

Hi xxxxx,

I haven't received anything in the post or heard anything regarding payment for the xxxxx you won a week ago.

Just as a reminder, your winning bid was £xxxx and I managed to get the carriage a little cheaper than I had quoted you at £xx (total £xxxx).

Can you please let me know if you are going to complete our transaction before 3rd November, after which I'm afraid they will have to be relisted for auction again.

Unfortunately, I also have to tell you that I have to contact e-bay about non-payment to get the re-listing fee & commision fees reduced which can result in a suspension, negative feedback and a fee charged to your account.

Therefore, I hope we can conclude our transaction and to hear from you soon.

Kind regards,
K

I can't see what ebay will do, I've had plenty of non-payers and ebay have never done anything other than send them a warning e-mail.

Ultimately unless you are willing to take someone to the small claims court then ebay's bidding 'contract' is about as much use as a choclate fireguard.

Yes - all they can do is de-register you; I think that takes three NPB warnings.

So long as you haven't been stupid enough to send the goods before payment, all you are out of pocket by is eBay's listing fees and final valuation fee. By filing a Non-Paying Bidder (NPB) alert with eBay, they will eventually refund you those fees so you are no longer out of pocket.

In the meantime you re-list and sell it to someone else.

Still no response from this buyer, I did manage to get hold of his Mum on the phone who said he has a girlfriend now!

WTF has that to do with buying a set of wheels I really don't know unless she ment he's skint

No response for several more days so I called again and got his Mum again and she said "he's always doing this, sorry"

Grrr, bl00dy timewaster!

Added feedback: - Non-payer, no response to e-mails. Phoned & his Mum said "he often does this".

Kids, pah. Doesn't his NPB record show up in his feedback?

He only has a feedback score of 2 and no recent buys so I can't see how much they were for.

I thought it was a bit amusing too

I am annoyed as it's wasted nearly 3 weeks!

No doubt he'll leave me bad feedback too.

Stupid system if you ask me, he shouldn't be allowed to leave feedback if he's a non-payer.

Or send a second-chance offer to the next highest bidder - In my case it was only a pound less than the non-payer.

When this happens, you go into "My eBay" and go to the 'Feedback Center' (sic), and post a response to the feedback along the lines of "This is revenge feedback from a non-paying bidder. Ignore." - this reduces the perceived negativity of the negative feedback in the eyes of a mjority of other eBayers.

Thanks Jon, I'll give that go if he "negs" me back.

Cheers

You have three months to leave feedback. So if you put yours in just before it closes, maybe he won't have time to retaliate? Or does that then give him another 3 nmonths?

I'm also having trouble with a non paying bidder at the moment, and have just gone into my eBay account to send the buyer a similarly blunt reminder. However, like a berk, whilst trying to find the 'contact buyer' link, I accidentally clicked on the 'Mark as payment received' link.

If I do end up having to report the buyer as a non-payer to eBay, is this likely to cause a problem?
