where are my fuses??!!!!

My car doesn't start. When I turn the key, the starter doesn't want to come to live. And after pushing my S around the block, I found out that more electrics weren't working.
So I think there might be some fuses broken. But as the electrics of the trunk don't work either, I cannot get to the bible...

So, could somebody tell me where I can find the fusebox?

The fusebox is in the passenger footwell. There is a carpet covered panel (it hinges from the bottom if I recall) below the glove box. The fusebox is mounted behind the panel.

Thanks guys. Had to drive tonight in my dull Saab .
Tomorrow it's gonna be a very nice day in Holland (23c), so hope I find the cause of the problems and can change the fuses.

Just when you think you have all the wires/relays/boards out, the last thing is the ecu, it's as if the car gives birth it is such a mess.

Getting it back in there is even more fun.

In fact it looked quite neat, when I looked yesterday. But the downpart is, that I couldn't find a broken fuse!
Has anyone an idea, what could be wrong?
The symptoms are:
-starter doesn't work
-when pushing the car around the block, it still won't start (day before yesterday it started immedeately)
-only the weak headlights turn on, no normal and strong headlights
-indicators don't work
-trunk doesn't open (that's where the bible is)
-But the windows work, so now I can play whit them

I'm no expert, but that could sound ignition-related to me.

I'd check the ignition wiring.

I would guess either the alarm (if it has one) or the multiplug by the ignition switch connecting it into the main loom.

My alarm works. I hear it everything engage when I put the key on the receiver.
I will try to see if the multiplug is damaged. Funny is however that the windows work....
Disaster, it is superb weather and I am really bad in electrics!!

On mine the windows are not ignition switched - everything else you have mentioned is though.

Yep I would agree with Peter's ignition switch multiplug diagnosis - take off the steering cowl and you'll see the plug with 3 wires (live feed to switch, ignition feed back to car, and feed to starter). Take it apart and chances are one of the contacts (probably the ignition feed) is burnt out.

This then means that everything that should work on the ignition circuit, doesn't, although the lights, windows, etc still work, and the starter turns over.

Mine went in the middle of nowhere as the rain came on, so I couldn't get the roof out of the boot. I pushed it under a petrol station canopy then had to diagnose and fix it by wedging in a bit of silver paper temporarily, then a couple of days later I bought a new 4-way plug and replaced the whole lot.

Looks logic to me. I'll check if my windows work without the ignition turned on. Funny, never tested that. Was out all day (with the wrong car )and did not have time to sort it out.
Will check tomorrow. Can the steering cowl easily be removed? I didn't see screws...
Hopefully I'll get some live back into my car. It just hurts to see it stand on the pavement before my house. Luckily it doesn't rain, because my roof is in the trunk too.

There is one screw up from underneath approximately in the centre, and one down from on top behind the hazard switch. Easy peasy.

YESSS, I've managed to start the car again!!!!
While measuring tension on the pins at the back of the 'ignition lock' (don't know the english word), I made a short circuit between two pins, and the handbrake light on the dash started burning. So I took the key while keeping the short circuit, and the car started!!!
Don't know exactly what is broken now, but think that changing my ignition lock might do the trick.
