so tony's bird, forgotten her name, who just had a baby, keeps ignoring the baby, and diverts the subject whenever the baby is mentioned to her, why is she doing this?

Post Natal Depression by the sounds of it. She doesn't want to get too attached to the baby because everyone she loves keep dying on her.

apparently it can occur quite often when a baby is premature and born in such a stressful/dramatic way.
