What night was that then? The Blitz lasted over a year.

29 th December 1940, A good program really learnt alot more from it especially from the Fireman actually there.
Remarkable that St.Pauls never suffered more.
Least we forget, I guess sometimes you can understand why some older people still loath Germans and vice versa after what we done at Dresden etc.

Thought the Blitz lasted 5 months??

There was no definite end to the Blitz. German raids on UK cities (not just London) gradually declined as 1941 progressed, mainly because of the Luftwaffe's increasing commitment to the campaigns in Russia, the Balkans and North Africa. However, intruder raids on Britain comtinued almost to the end of the war and, of course, there was a massive upsurge in attacks in Britain from Autumn 1944 with the arrival of the V1s and V2 weapons.

The program just focussed on the worst night of the Blitz. Trully horrifying, although interesting to hear who started bombing civilians first...

I thought the program was well put together. Concentrating on the contrasting stories of a few specific people really brought out the human element.

Agree with comments re St Paul's - just amazing.

My Mothers family - September 1940 - moved to the East End. Summer 1941 - moved back to Dorset.

I've never understood the logic behind that part of my family history...
