Some utter Berkeley ran into my car whilst parked!
Discussion
Un-feckin-believable.
Parked in the street. Went out to nip over to teh other site, noticed my door mirror folded back and a big bloody dent and scrape on my NSF wing...
So now I'm looking for revenge. It's one of those places where you see the same cars everyday, so I'm on the lookut for a light blue car/van/mpv with metallic red scrapes on it's wing & bumper..
Question is, I suppose that without a witness to the event, even with corroborating paint marks on my car and the perpetrator when I find that car, I'll never get anything done by the police and I'll end up going through my insurers (which I'm bloody not doing).
Could someone advise what recourse I have, if any, if I can identify the offending vehicle?

You know Matt, I edited my original post to remove any descrption of what recourse I might have on my own account.
I knew that sooner or later some right minded chap would get the idea
Thing is I want to know if the coppers would give a crap (I think I know the answer) and if I could oprovide my insurers with details and have them pursue the owner of the other vehicle..
Of course, if I report this to anyone and then that car 'mysteriously' gets a Rajistani Pug 206 makeover job, they'll come to me first. Which would be bad.

I had the front wing on the chim scuffed the other day, AND THE DRIVER STOPPED AND LEFT A NOTE!!!!
although he did turn out to own a Griff and was totaly gutted that he had hit a tvr with his discovery.....
Although as its just a little sratch left after a day polishing im going to leave it as the front end is fairly pebble dashed anyway, i'll wait till i get around to a full nose and ears job!!

this one is the worst.. the wheelarch is now indented.. Oh well, I suppose the evident damage all adds weight to the 'get the fcuk out of my way' message.
I might just beat the panel out and primer it then leave it like that..
Has anyone ever dropped a V8 into a FWD Datsun?

CZ... when I had my Fiesta I witnessed some plonker with a Shogun and trailer kindly remove the off side front wing.
I go tin the car, drove after him, tried to pull him over... and got the middle finger. Lost him in traffic, but got his reg plate.
Phoned the cozzers... who weren't that interested. Said they'd keep a look out. Asked if I'd give a statement... which I duly did.
THREE months after the event, they sent someone round to his house and he literally said "it was so long ago I can't remember". - and that was it!
Cozzers weren't interested, and the damaged was £80 more than my excess... so my wallet took the brunt of it.
Still pisses me off to this day. I gave them a descrption of the bloke, of his Shogun (it was an import model) and it's reg, details and descrption of the trailer (the light clusters were different on each side)... and what do I get? A bill.

On the other hand
I was knocked off my bike, bloke did it on purpose too w
r, got his plate went round to the rozzers
They confirmed there and then that the reg I gave matched a car of that descrption, and that the b
d was local.
Knock on the door the next day day, there's Mr Rozzer (why do always get that sinking feeling even when you know you haven't done anything
), and over a cup of tea he gives me the whole story of how he went round to t
s house and how, as he approached the front of his car, t
r was on the deck trying to sand out the scratches in his bumper
He went to court on Dec 22nd got £500 fine and 8 points

some dopey knob hit the cerbera the other night outside the house, only a scratch a couple of inches long on the lump which might be described as a bumper. Silly sod drove off not realising that I saw them. I've complained to the school (where they were turning out of) and as we figured they were dropping kids off to go to guides and it is guides night every tuesday then it is only a metter of time before I catch up with them. And catch up with them I will, if only I'd bought a petrol chainsaw instead of the electic one
On a serious note it is an offence to cause damage to someonelses vehicle I will be pointing this out in a rather polite manner, and taking MR BAT along to clarify my point.
So if anyone reading the cambridge evening news tomorrow reads an article about a bloke who is murdered by a pack of angry, badly parked guide mums it'll be me.
