When I go to Ebay a pop up appears asking me to log on to dfp.doubleclick.net and supply a password.This is to log on to DART.I can close the pop up but what is this about?

Almost certainly spyware.

Download Microsoft AntiSpyware Beta - it's free. I think this will also clear dodgy cookies, but if not clear your IE cookies after running it as doubtless you will have a load from doubleclick who are notorious for this.
