Hi, i recentlty moved house - and due to reccomendations from here - i signed up to Plus.Net premium ADSL account.

That was 2 and half weeks ago! I should have been connected last wednesday...

But apparantly 'BT' has problems connecting ADSL lines - and i should have been connected yesterday according to BT - but alas - still I am stuck on 56K dial up!

Now - does anyone know if this problem actually exists, or is Plus.net telling me porkies?

Normally, once BT have done their bit they then have to tell Plus Net who then have to activate your account.

Think it took two or three days from BT doing their bit for mine to be activated. Raise a ticket with them and someone should get back to you relatively quickly.

If BT have done all that they are supposed to do, then it shouldn't be long now.....

So is the ADSL active or not? What are the lights on your router/modem doing?

Could be that ADSL is active to the exchange, but your ISP needs to activate your account.

I recently moved house and wanted my ADSL connection moved to the new line. Took nearly 6 weeks. It was supposed to take 2 weeks. For one month BT failed to provide any explanation of what was wrong or estimate when it would be fixed. BT Wholesale refuse to talk to end-customers directly, and my ISP said they couldn't get any useful info out of BT. There was a rumour that some "robotics" system at BT had ed up and they had lost some information about the state of their own exchanges ... whatever any of that is supposed to mean. The effect this was having for me was that my exchange was known to be ADSL enabled, but one of BT's systems was saying it wasn't. Rumoured to be effecting 14,000 customers' requests. Could be total cods.

there is no ADSL signal.

I have raised a ticket.

It sounds very much like the last posters experience - or at least, according to plus.net...
