I know its another watch thread but I want to know not what to buy but where to buy :) I am looking into getting this http://www.aatime.com/productdetail.asp?productid=670 Has anybody bought anything from these guys or any other online seller. Is the warranty still valid if you buy online. As like most people I hate paying full price for something if you do not have to, so is there anyway of getting a cheaper price from a jewelers? Have any of you managed this and how?

Thanks
Ian

What the blazes is going on round here?

Can't we have a "which jazz mag to buy?" thread or something, just for variety? Or "I know which mag I want but don't know how to go about buying it from my local newsagents."

Simple - if you don't like it, don't read it.

You can always haggle with jewellers. Independent ones are best for this. I managed to knock almost 40% off the last shiny thing I got for the Mrs.

Funnily enough I put a Jazz thread put earlier this morning. Wierd because I don't really like Jazz and I don't often post. Anyway I got zip replies- watches much better.

I tried buying the wife her Breitling from AATime, after about 12 weeks of waiting (they did keep me up to date on the order, hence why I waited instead of cancelling), they eventually said they couldn't supply the watch I was after.

The way I understand the process they work to, they don't carry much stock themselves, what happens is you place the order, they then go and find the watch for you from other suppliers. If it's a popular watch then no problem, if it's not one stocked by a lot of retailers, you may not get your order fulfilled.

by the way I agree with Tomtom. Try a well established independant and haggle.

Oh, I don't know about that. So can you recommend any good jazz mags?

Thats the idea - I got £300 lopped off a TAG Monaco in Goldsmiths, so there is room for a bit of haggling. I ended up paying less for mine than I saw it up for in the Duty Free shop in Heathrow T3 (who weren't up for a bit of bartering, damn them).

Remember - they're still making a pile of cash out of you
