RV8 Pics

Does anyone have any pics of the RV8 out of the car? I need as many as possible so I can create a 3D model of one to go in the Chassis of my 3D Griff/Chim??

Chris, I think I've seen a model already done! this was a while back, but I'm sure if you look through the 3D model purchasing sites you would find it I'll have a look...

I'd rather not use models that have been bought as they tend to be expensive for what they are and you can never really tell how the model is going to be constructed.

Also it's not so good for the portfolio if you go to an interview with a bought model.

Oh right, so you're making a 3D model as in CAD model to match the exact size and parameters etc? or just a 3D outershell model? What package do you use? I've used Solidworks and lightwave in the past, although solidworks is a lot more geared towards technical level models.

No, not CAD, far to precice for me!! I'm just building a "it'll look pretty" model. Using 3D Studio Max. It's mainly for show, not in any massive detail, because the turn around time would be just too big.

I did a 3D model of a RV8 short engine at uni some years back using ACAD2000.

I've got a block you can have thats a scrapper if you want it, heads, rockers, crank etc etc too.

Its a bit of a trek for you, but theyre free if you want to collect them.

Good spot! I took those pics to post something on PH a while ago along the lines of 'how do I get this back in'. IIRC, it was you that suggested some percussion maintenance (i.e. wallop with a mallet) - it worked!

Wildfire if your making a 3d model u want dead on side/front/top/bottom shots to model it which will be hard to get hold of.. and angled ones to use to see if the perspective is right....

I'd got a rough model kicking about that I did in solidworks for our Locost build. It's basically just the block and heads and a rough model of the LT77 gearbox too. Let me know if this is any use to you.
