Ooooh I could crush a grape!!!! Am in my final year at university. Have just spent 7 weeks preparing a presentation which I presented last week. Was told it was worth 40% of my module mark - a fair sized piece of work, was told today that it has all changed and that the module is now to be marked on coursework alone. What a waste of time and effort and the stress of doing the presentation? Very pi**ed off with the university and have sent a letter to the Dean - we'll see if I get a reply as all the university seem to care about is money - bu**ger the poor students who have their efforts turned to junk in front of theit very eyes!!!!

AARRRGGHHH!!!!

(Sorry, rant mode off now)

Ask anyone here who's been in the corporate world for a couple of years - you've learned an essential life lesson.... the phantom moving goalposts..

FWIW I've long employed a policy of doing no work for any project/milestone that is due more than two days hence, because you can almost guarantee that you'll have been wasting your time.

Ahhh, the good old "moving goalposts" lark. Good to see that it affects all areas of modern society and not just in the work place. Currently had my goalposts moved considerably over the last two days - absolute pig. But hey, kinda get used to it by now....

That's how I used to work unitl I was exposed to the world of work last year and decided to clean up my act and try to get a decent degree. Shouldn't have bothered.

Might just have to revert to lazy-arsed get, watching daytime TV and playing GT3 until my thumbs develop callouses - is more fun, less stressful and devlops hand eye co-ordination better than taking notes in a freezing cold portacabin in November

Well, I decided to leave it to the last minute again - damned fool I am. Have now been up for 2 1/2 hours to finish a piece of coursework due in today - utter idiot - am knackered!! (But looking forward to the beers I'm going to wash it down with from about 1 o'clock this afternoon)

I love university life!!

I don't think it's conceited. I work very poorly when my deadlines are a long way off. Give me a long term project, and I'll leave it too late, and do it badly. That's why I've ended up in a job where any effort is only needed right now.

Just playing to my strengths recently.
