Yeah and that same oil was on the corner after the hairpin that caused me to end up in the gravel !
Oh well I was under Tuition at the time and he was trying to get me to take more speed into the corner - on a wet track - oops !!!
Well at least the rest of you got a warning - at my expense

Well I dropped a big pile of coolant on the track at about 4:45pm so any trips into the kitty litter after that have a legitimate excuse. I think I hold the record for the most spectacular entry into the pit lane as my car was on fire and steam was coming from every orifice (including my own, plus some other gases).
Luckily, I made it all the way home (250 miles) without a problem, a big thanks goes to Richard and Chris from Vagantune for getting me running again.

I saw you on the beach - no serious damage I hope.
A great day ! Great day after I eventually got there, once the track fully dried up the M400 certainly got into it's stride.
I also found out why the temp on my M400 was getting so high, I was basically a gear lower for pretty much all of the track than Micknall, but he was clearly quicker than me.
It seems that I just need to teach myself that the car is just as, or even, quicker if you use the torque between 4500 and 6000, rather than keeping it above 5000 all the time.
The continious additional revs seems to be what gets the oil temp rising, so it seems I just need to change my driving style to suit the car.
Still in awe of Simon's driving speed though!

Simon, a great job in organising. It is not always the easyest job to organise an event like this and make it work for everyone.
I really enjoyed the circuit layout, the only bit I felt was Micky Mouse was the coned chicane after the pit lane entry on to the start finish straight, but I understand why it was there.
One of the most rewarding and learning experience for me was the wet sessions in the morning. Yes, you had to be careful, but I got a chance to really feel for the first in the car what grip level and slip level was in wet conditions, rather than on the open road.
Looking forward to seeing the photos on Sportspics site when they are posted.
A1 going north afterwards was a nightmare. 5 hours to get back to Newcastle.

No damage to worry about whatsoever. Although the paintwork will probably need a going over. Alloys are a little scratched but I was going to get them refurbed anyway.
Marshals were great considering how deep the front was buried. They took extra care in getting me out without damaging anything. Vegantune were superb - took them over 4 hours to de-stone the car - thanks to them for the time and effort. They also found some other issues not relating to the incident and put them right too
Thanks to everybody else that came over to make sure I was ok.

Just got home from the Owners day, which ended up being a 3 day event for a few of us! 
Thanks so much to the factory for organising it.
After initially being very gutted and upset at the "icy rink" like grip levels, it turned out to be bloddy fan-blinking-tastic.
I loved every minute out on track in the dry and had a brilliant day.
I have to thank Micknall for the trip in the M400. What can I say Simon, I was truly gobsmacked by your abilities with that car. Your the most impressive driver I have been in a car with yet! (sorry Justin

An excellent day and although very hairy the morning was a lot more fun, unfortunately I had the camcorder on pause so didn't capture any of the action! I did get some of the afternoon stuff though.
I still didn't like the "historic" or was that "esoteric" circuit layout, would have preferred the national more. Other than that no complaints at all a very well run and organised day, thanks to everyone involved!
