Is this going to work with 'The Rock' as Sarge?

I saw an interview with the Rock and he said he gets to use the biggest gun in cinema history. It will have to be big to beat The Terminators chain gun in T2

Initial reports aren't good.

On the New York Times website I saw a review that said watching a 13 year old playing the game for 2 hours would be more fun.

I was thinking the chain gun used in Preditor was used more effectively. mowing down all them trees trying to get the preditor

The original Tomb Raider was quite good I thought, better than the second one anyway.

I have seen a couple of films saring the Rock and as someone said they are good popcorn movies. He is the new tough guy on the block Sly, Arnie, etc are getting on a bit now so time for some new blood and who else is there out there

The first person perspective elements of the movie could have been done a bit better from the looks of things. This should have been a horror movie, not an action movie.

I'll probably watch it anyway

From imdb, they ave apparently cut out all the stuff about the Gates of Hell and demons etc., and replaced it with a sub-Resident Evil virus mutant angle.

Why can't a conversion be bold enough to keep the gore and entrails and demons and stuff? By diluting it, it meets nobody's aspirations, and panned by critics and fans.

I will still have to go and see it though.

If they have removed the hell element from doom this is truly going to be weak. What next? change the setting from mars to "the good ol' USA" ~_-

Agreed

Done well it could have been the best meeting of Horror and action since Aliens 2, but if they are toning down the horror why bother?

From the trailer it seems as if it is a remake of Aliens - bunch of gung-ho marines with lots of hi-tech weapons get eaten. They even have the elevator shot from Alien in there.
