Hi All

Boyfriends started his rebuild of his new engine and is looking into getting some new pistons. Was wondering if anyone knows of the best place to purchase some Omega pistons (+60 thou 6.5cc dish) from...

Thanx

From my experience dealing with Omega is a nightmare.

What engine are they for? You will need to be quite specific when you place an order.

Its for a MG Midget A series. Someone reckons around £300 it will cost for the set.

You might be able to get these from a company specialising in Midgets but I can't help you here.

Anybody know who stocks Midget tuning parts?

Hi,

I tried various piston suppliers for my engine rebuild,

Omega, really were not interested when I told them I only wanted 6.

Cosworth racing, helpfull but would only make 24 as minimum run quantity.

One other manufacturer would only rum 100 as a minimum run quantity!

Accralite, very helpfull 6 was no problem but they were very busy so 16 week lead time, they turned up 16 weeks to the day, very impressed, but at 1K for 6 maybe they should be good.

Not tried any suppliers other than the place where the block is being rebored. Was looking for the best price for them really. If not omega, what other makes do people consider can stand up the motorsport use?

2nd the advice for Mini suppliers, there's far more tuning done to Minis than Midgets yet the engine is the same. I used www.minispares.com/Shop.aspx for bits when I was tuning my Midget. No connection, just a satisfied customer. Makes me weep to see how cheap these tuning bits are, it's all got a lot more expensive with Caterham & Duratec!

I take it your BF has the David Vizard 'Tuning the A series Engine' bible? Utterly indispensable, and still in print AFAIK
