Wetlands Centre
Discussion
Someone around these parts recently recommended the Wetlands Centre...

...as worthy of a visit.
Managed to spend a few hours there yesterday.
(Had a hanky with me and some lemsip, but none of the inmates was sneezing or shivering too much - mind you with all that damp.....)
Anyway, I'd say it is well worth a visit as already mentioned.
Corny to go for the Mandarin I know but....

Nice work. It really is a good location there in town. I managed an hour or so yesterday but the light was awful. It's alwyas a good spot for herons, usually 10 or so around the centre.
I managed to bag this one at the same place. First time I've ever seen one in the wild. It did give one of the ducks a massive shock
BTW did you look at the photographic gallery upstairs? Seems like Kensington Gardens is also a good wildlife spot for us London based wildlife photographers.
Cheers
Chris

Took me a while to spot it too!
I saw that originally - some kind of snake I assume, but very difficult to tell...
Grass snake swimming across a pond. Yes it's small I grant you, but only had a 300mm lens. No time to attach converter, just switch on, focus & meter and fire. It's a tiny part of the original frame hence why it is so grainy.
If you go from the head you can see the body of the snake going diagonally right across the frame.
