hello guys,

as an avid fan of the STI and two previous STI's i have finally succumbed to the V8. Have to say, loving every minute in it. However, few questions./ Anyone know where i can get some holden badges so i get rid of the vauxhall ones.

Also, i had my scoob extensively moidified and thinking of going down the same lines. What is a good strating mod with these things and does it influence the warrenty?? cheers

Welcome BCK, a friendly bunch in here.

Keep the Vauxhall badge my friend - people are always amazed when they realise it's a Luton Lugger.
Nobody's heard of Holden over here.

A good start is to visit the Wortec site and/or the Monkfish site to see what you fancy tune wise.

www.wortec.co.uk/

www.monkfishperformance.co.uk/

I've just had a catback exhaust, re-map, MAF & CAI (the Sportpac) all for about £1500 and has given me about another 60bhp and has transformed the car into what it should be.
Sounds brilliant too.

Hello BCK.

What Model/year Monaro have you got ?

I can only make a suggestion on one of your questions..... Badges.

Ask Jagsy on this forum as I think he deals with getting badges

Hi BCK, recent member myself.

You'll find the members here extremely helpful.

I agree with BigNige, start with the Sport Pac upgrade as a minimum. It totally transforms the car. If you can stretch to a RipShifter, then go for that as well as it makes shifting gear a pleasure. No more stirring porridge!

cheers for the advice. Think the basic upgrade with the ECU remap is a good start. I would hope that a simple ecu remap wouldnt affect the warrenty??

If anyone is selling an after market exhaust i am alsways on the look out. anything to here that noise a little better!

Hi BCK

Welcome, may I humbly suggest you set a budget and try to keep to it, my first mod was the brakes, for me that was also the best approach as it gave me the confidence to explore the car before the addition of a blower and of course a few other mods.

Agree 100%, brakes that allow you to stop much later & with confidence are the best "Go Faster" mod. IMO.
P.S Welcome & hope you find your car as enjoyable as everyone elsw does.

Best initial mod.......driver tution. Get some professional driving instruction and the car will get much quicker and good value for money relatively.

Sorry caspy but if he has had two STi's I doubt driver tuition will be needed, or am I wrong, driver tuition on the track is a different matter

Hi, Im relatively new myself and they are a great bunch here. Very friendly and helpful.

I have the Vauxhall supplied/approved upgrade exhaust for the 05 VXR for sale (Suspension too). It is suitable for both 05 models. What model/year of car have you bought?

Having taken mine on the track once I can see where Caspy is coming from. Didnt have tuition but really got to understand the car better.

what a friendly bunch! Have a CV8 2004 standard at the moment. I know what you mean about setting a budget. Modding cars is contagiously addictive. Did a fair bit on my scoobs, very low key abd managed it relatively cheaply using second hand parts. (uprated brakes, AP organic clutch, full decat, remap, uprated MAF, uprated fuel pump, cold air induction) went like stink!

Caspy, not offended by comment, everyone can always learn something! Especially not used to the lively tail.

cheers for advice
