I just have just had a mid-engined car designed for me and looks a damn sight better and didnt take bloody ages....(someone in my local laughed at me and said what do you know about cars????? There is no way you could have a car designed and built etc etc, everyone was taking the piss so I thought OK cheeky bastards, I have no got the 1:1 scale 3D models - now have to get the chassis and monocoque designed to get a working concept and I dont think it is taking me years (design and 3d modelling has taken 3 months). If the germans can do it I reckon I am having a could shot at it....
Bah, people shoulds top judging it.
The same silly comments were said about the Macca F1.... RIGHT up until the Veyron was released the other month, then all those "pointless" "flawed" comments just moved to the Veyron and everyone now says the Macca F1 is like a classic.
Every supercar is flawed.
I see this as the next step up from the Merc SLR personally. It's not in the same league as the Enzo, Carrera GT, Koenigsegg CC8S/R.
This is an Uber GT car. It's outright pace is enough to shame all the other "supercars" which are much less road cars than the Veyron is.
It's an amazing, expensive achievement, but in real terms, it's cheaper than the McLaren F1 was (taking into account inflation).
Lets appreciate it for what it is, rather than condeming it for being simply expensive.
A good way to see it is as a Lambo Murcielago. Both quite heavy supercars. Put two 18 stone people in a Murcielago, with a full tank of fuel, and it'll be the same as an average lone driver in a Veyron with half a tank of fuel lets say.
The Murc manages to win hearts and souls, and the Veyron is only 200kg heavier again. I'm quite sure the added luxury and almost double the power and torque can outweigh the small added weight!
Anyone who can afford this car for driving down to Lemans or across Germany etc probably has an Enzo, Carrera GT, Zonda F, McLaren F1 etc sat in his track car collection at home anyway, and just wants a no nonsense GT car that is also super fast.
Quality car!
