Just give me an idea, I've watched some video's it seems to be a way to test your top speed. If so how long is the straight? Is it safe? when is the next one ect.
Thanks John

It only tests ya top speed over the 1.5 miles, then you have to brake. Most cars need a longer straight than the 1.5 for the true TOP wack of ya car. Fantastic day though.

You know, you'd be surprised....

Yes, there is some *very* smart machinery that attends, but it's more about the people and attitude than the cars. There's a real respect for every car at a Vmax, whether it be an Ultima or Viva.

My car can be picked up at a dealership for around 15k now, but my passenger seat is never empty and has been known to embarass some much more expensive metal. Either way everyone always has a real laugh.

OK, there's a queue to get there but it's well worth joining and coming along for a day. The more the merrier.

I honestly can't remember how much it costs - I think it's around the £150 area or so, but not sure.

You get on the list by looking at the Vmax thread and then when Craig announces the next vmax you send him a mail...

Good luck...!

You just need to get in before the tyres give up, normally after about 10 minutes

That's definitely the key to it. The conversations are as much key to making VMax special as the cars.

As for the 'is it safe?' issue. I believe it has a 100% safety record. There is a detailed driver briefing and a strict code of conduct. People are very self-disciplined and respectful of others, but if anyone does misbehave, then Craig deals with it immediately, and if necessary will ask them to leave. No messing. Cars generally run in twos, but if a driver has a good reason then they can run alone.

Just as well since the number of champagne socialists making their ignoble prescences felt since 1997 has sullied even this type of last redoubt of right wing boltholism.

As far back as V-Max VI, there was some fellow in a Ferrari who at one point uttered the favoured noun collective of the left, community, at which point I pulled away from the starting point in horror and made like a tree, seeking the solace only recently slain, slightly salted rodent au bap can supply.

In many ways, Brunters is not about cars at all, rather, the state of one's digestive system.
