Radio not working

Standard pioneer radio has stopped working. Actually just picked up car after engine rebuild so battery has been disconnected for long time.
Anyone any ideas why it won't come on?

Fuse?
Loose connection?
Was (for some strange reason) connected directly to the battery, so hasn't been reconnected?
Loose connection at the back of the unit?

Nothing happens to the radio at all. No lights. No request for key code or anything. It could be a fuse. Being a bit thick with these things, can anyone tell me where the fuse is and how I check it. Is it in the passenger footwell?

there will be a fuse in the footwell (check your handbook) but there could also be a line fuse to the live of the radio unit or even a fuse on the back of the unit.

I think there is a fuse in the footwell (check the manual/bible) but there will also almost definately be an inline fuse behind the stereo itself.

Also, stereos require two 12v feeds. One that is permemently live to allow the stereo to remember it's settings and another to supply the Ooomphh to drive the rest of it (power amp, motors etc). The "memory" feed is normally yellow and the main power will be red (this should be the one with the fuse on it). Also there'll be a black which connects to ground.

Get yourself a cheapo multimeter/voltmeter (less than a tenner) and check there's power on these wires first of all. If you need help on how to do this let me know.
