Hi Guys,
what sort of mirror was fitted to the origonal 3000M?
Was it a light weight chrome one and did it dip?
Was it fitted to the roof on one of the wood blocks or to the windscreen.
Mine is fitted with a large modern dipping mirror that weighs half a ton, well it was but those sticky pads are not strong enough to hold it to the screen!
thanks,
G.

As far as I recall, mine was the modern dipping one.
(76 3000M built late 1975)

By 1978 when I got my Taimar, it was the 'stick-on' type which fell off regularly until I discovered glue that hardens in ultra-violet light (typically a kind of gauze patch that you insert between the back of the miirror mount and the screen).

Halfords do special 2 pack plus gauze patch type interior mirror kit which is excellent. Do NOT be tempted to economise by using Araldite or other glues. I have seen so many cracked windscreens on frosty mornings due to differential rates of expansion. sTeVeR
