Private ANPR?

Driving through the Maylands business park in Hemel Hempstead this evening when I was confronted with my reg number on a red LED screen in the grounds of one of the offices. What's that about then?! Didn't see a van, no police parked up down the road or anything - appeared to be built into the security system of the office. Are strange things afoot in the kingdom of Hemelonia?

Ah, answered my own question...apparently there's a company which flogs ANPR systems based on that business park.

Looks like their "GateGuard" facility being shown off, although quite why they need to scan every passing car on the road is beyond me.
