Sticky bits and distributor cap
Discussion
What is the best way of removing the double sided tape that holds the leather sill protectors on? I want to buy some new protectors and have completely wrecked the old ones trying to get them off.
The other question is what distributor cap and rotor arm is fitted to the S1 (standard), is it shared with a Rover 200 or similar? Can I get one of these from a local Auto Factors. I don't think mine have ever been changed.

I have been having loads of problems with double sided tape on my wifes Shogun. I have been to a few good body shops and all they recomend is using a tar remover (autoglym). In my case this is not doing a great job and requires a lot of elbow grease. I am going to try some surgical spirit, see if that is any better.
Sounds crazy but I think tuscan is right - I'm sure I saw those to crazy old ladies on the TV using peanut butter to remove gluey marks.
I use cigarette lighter fluid myself. Squirt it on, really soak the residue, leave for a few seconds, squirt some more on then scrape of the mess with a piece of plastic. Then squirt even more on and wipe with a cloth.
