Picked me Chimeara up today
Got it home and now it wont start as the battery is flat
How can a battery go flat in 6 miles from the garage to home?
Albeit it was dark and wet and I had the lights and heater on but surely they dont go flat this quickly?

That would suggest another problem to me... rather than a battery...

Its ok I got it started again now
It was due to water on the electrics as it was raining very hard and I went through a large puddle!!

I sprayed Wd40 on the electrics and all is fine again now

....I'd still get it checked..I've driven many miles in the rain & not (yet) had this problem.

And worth spending the time cleaning as many connections as you can get at...it does help and gives a little bit of peace of mind...

I agree with Dave and cleaning is actually part of the fun of ownership for me. It really helps as well if you can get familiar with the way things look when they are right, it makes spotting something that isn't right, in the dark, at the side of the road, when you really need to get somewhere, a lot easier.

I have.. a blustery storm on Anglessey after a trackday had managed to force some water in around the battery/fuses (lord knows how). Totally dead car. All part of the fun of ownership..

Wher is the battery Breather, I have seen little holes in the inside of the wheel arch, it could come in there.
Also wher the earth/Live wire comes through the inside of the engine bay sort of down from the windscreen wiper motor is another place that needs sealing.
