I'm looking to bid on an item which is likely to sell for around £200.

The seller only has a feedback of 1 and only accepts Postal Orders or Bankers Drafts.

Should I avoid this or not?

If it were me, yes, If I couldn't pick it up and or pay on delivery, I wouldn't go there.

YMMV however.

Well ask yourself how much of a bargain it would have to be to take the risk. £180? £150? then don't go beyond that point.

Maybe everyone else will think the same?

You could always ask some questions of the seller to see if you can gauge anything.

mmmmmmm I went for it!

Beginning to regret it now.

I had an email from the seller the next day giving me his name and address which I have duly sent a Building Society cheque to.

Not heard a thing since!

Br! Fingers crossed!

To be honest, people that give you thier address are less likely to rip you off, since you know thier home addy, unless its a po box, then steer clear and dont send

Give it a few days, he/she might want to have the draft cleared before sending. In any case, it is not always easy / convenient to get to the banks and PO for ebay trading. TVOE.

You might have no intention of doing so but this question will usually show up any scammers
