Traction Control...

What is the official reason for not designing/fitting traction control to any of their cars? I can understand the ABS and airbags situation but surely TC would mean you can exploit the power safely and turn it off for pant soiling experiences?

All TVR's come with traction control fitted as standard. Its called your right foot.

Excellent. Thank you for that most informative comment. I guess next time I put a bit too much pressure on the accelerator I just open the door and use my 'right foot' to stop me from spinning off the road?

I would use your right foot to press the brakes instead, it will stop much easier You have accelerator and brake pedals, this is all you need to exploit the power and as RR said, the fun is in the learning how. Edited by Kris Wood on Thursday 2nd August 19:03

I guess if you feel comfortable with 300bhp+ and no TC then you must feel invincible.. Can't wait!!!!!!! I suppose you sound double hard when you explain the lack of TC! Now I know why so many Germans have moustaches... It makes up for the lack of hair on their chests!!!!

I have to say that as these days it's relatively easy to fit traction control I'd like to see TVR have it as an option with a big on / off button. That way when you're coming home late at night tired from the gym, visit to girlfriend etc and it's wet and you're knackered and some lorry's split a load of diesel then that electronic nanny will look after you and prevent you crunching into the barrier. Also you can turn it off when the Sun is out and you're feeling brave. Whats wrong with that? Matt

For all their comittment to producing pure drivers cars, I figure one of the main reasons against fitting traction control is the development cost. Still given many TVR's seeming vulnerability to electrical gremlins, kind of glad they don't bother..

Steve Heath has fitted Traction Control to his 520Wedge. Developed it in conjuction with Tower View Race Services. I'm not sure what the overall cost was but I'm sure Dave at Tower View could advise. Rich...
