New Owner Require Assistance

I have recently purchased a Chimaera.Could anyone advise a good garage for servicing etc. at sensible prices, in the Somerset/Devon area?

Also is anybody aware of a modified mirror that can be used when the hood is down, to give better rear vision?

Can't help with the servicing - wrong end of the country. As to rear view, make sure the velcro is completely unfastened both sides inside and out, lay a rolled blanket across the rear window then fold the rear portion, taking care not to get too many creases in the plastic then you should find it folds inside the body and goes low enough to see over with the standard mirror. (mind you, I am 6ft 4....)

Your 'local' is Peninsula just outside Exeter towards Sidmouth. They're a main dealer and won't be cheap, but they do enjoy a good reputation. Rumour has it one of their top guys has left and set up shop on his own, I'm afraid I don't know anymore than that - perhaps someone else can offer more information.

As for the mirror, I've thought about something that clips on the windscreen rail - but I'm not sure it's workable. I find using all three mirrors regularly works fine.

There's also Webbs in Nailsea - just off M5 south of Bristol. AKA 'TVR Bodyshop'. Not been myself (only owned 2 months) but the guy I bought from had taken the car there for 3 years. They are recognised specialists, I think.

I (and several Griff/Chimaera owners I know) use Tony Gaston aka 'JT Classic Services' in Severn Beach (near M4/Bristol/Severn Bridge) - he runs a Chim as his own car and is a very knowledgable, honest chap with extremely competitive rates! I went in a week ago to ask about the price for a 12k service.. £600 and the "courtesy" car is £20 a day.. oh and they can't do a service at a weekend as the service bit is only open on a saturday Morning.

Cant help with the servicing I'm afraid, I'm miles away. However, I find when I'm driving my Chim, everythings left so far behind I don't need the rear view mirror anyway!
