Is there a Britcar race on a Donnington this weekend.

I read that there was going to be one a little while ago, but now can't seem to find anymore information on it ?!?
Thanks

James

I get the feeling it's been changed to Snetterton, and I *think* it's the night race.

I'll go ask the Oracle.

I found this, www.motorsportvision.co.uk/snetterton/news/article.asp?NewsID=923

But I'll still send a link to Trackside. He should know what's happening.

This was on the original EERC calendar as a Donington event but due to the fact that there are no longer any pit buildings there (having a full rebuild at last!), the race has been moved to Snetterton.

See you there! (or not, as it will be dark...)

Well done Henry & Pete! A well judged race using the pitstop strategy superbly during the (many) safety car periods to gain the maximum advantage. Great stuff. The car sounded superb on full chat past the pits BTW.

A special note to Top Cats on some superb racing. Jon Harrison's solo drive to 5th overall was brilliant, interspersed by a couple of spins which kept us spectators entertained! Warren's drive in the TVR when hassling the vastly more powerful Falcon was fabulous, possibly the best racing of the season IMO. I was watching from the Russell chicane and when he came round in front of George Haynes, the crowd (all 7 of us) went mad! Excellent stuff, especially considering the off either Warren or David Upton had in quallie and the subsequent repairs to the rad I saw going on in the pits.

'Twas a shame that, once again, the entry was considerably slimmer than that which was listed on the EERC site and in the raceday programme. Something I think James and co. need to work on for next season. It's a good job the race was combined with the Production S1 runners as 5 Britcars was pretty poor (6 including Lee's Noble that expired after 3 or 4 laps of qualifying). Let's hope it's improved for Brands and onwards into '06.

Edited to add that having just read the MST site, it's congrats again to Henry & Pete for their second win of the weekend! Doesn't get much better really. Well done again!

nothing exciting...

Both Randy and I had other commitments for the weekend.

we will be back for the 19th ... probably the last outing for the Elise before it's replacement hit's the track.

Well the little silverstone outing certainly helped with night racing and this time we knew which way the track went. Even so commiting to Corum and Riches in the pitch black takes a huge leap of faith. Couldn`t quite guarantee finishing the race on 1 fuel / pit stop, (ran out 3 laps before the end at Oulton), due to our little tank so did a second stop in quick succesion, (only allowed to take on 50 ltrs at a time). Pete managed to hassle the Cole boys Ferrari into an alternator failure at Riches when it had a fresh driver after their pit stop. Didn`t see the car at first when I re-joined the race as it was so far into the sugar beet field ! After that just a case of holding it together.

The one time this season they waved everyone past on the safety car picking us up as leader was cruel. Seeing the P2 car 3 cars in front then sitting in 2nd gear whilst he came round behind me for a free lap was interesting ! Still rules are rules and next time we may be the beneficiary !

A memorable race. The roar of the crowd is still ringing in my ears.

Cheers fella thanks for the comments. Warren was in top form and deserved the drive of the day award. Some great driving hammering the car round like it was a 10 lap sprint And just to save Warren's reputation it twas not he who enaged the barrier. Still nice of Lee C to introduce himself to the back of our car again brought back memories of him doing the same to us in the Tuscan Challenge series more than once
