Knotted window wipers!

Why does the car hate me? It decided that the windscreen wipers should be tied together last night - meaning we had an interesting trip home without a means of clearing the screen.

WHY??? It's a fortnight before its MOT and I don't need it playing silly :censored: now. :(

Presumably it's the splines in the wiper arms that have died? Any ideas for common faults appreciated.

Happened to me in my Chimaera once - the trailing edge of one wiper caught on the leading edge of the other.

I just cut one a little shorter to recify it.

Its possible the splines on the wiper arm have been rounded off. I'd pull that off first and see whats going on. Should be just a nut to undo and it will come off with a bit of wiggling about (or not if there are no splines left on it )

Yes. It seems the splines are gone on the LH wiper arm... Now driving around with one wiper. Let's see that one tangle itself up!
