Tracker deactivation?

Quick note - if anyone has had their engine removed/battery disconnected, be aware that there is a chance your tracker internal battery could also have run down (lasts about 48 hrs per Tracker).

This happened with my Tracker unit when my engine was rebuilt / battery disconnected - so the unit then had no signal when tested by Tracker. Result = £80 battery audit charge by Tracker to get things up and running, which, needless to say, was not covered by the factory despite engine rebuild being under warranty.

Just wanted to highlight in case some folk are driving around with a non-functioning Tracker unit.

thanks for the heads up, my batt was disconnected for about 5 weeks a few months back. Will give tracker a call now to check it.

Doesn't Tracker charge for this type of test?

Yes, its around £90 as they have to call a techie out to do the testing

When I purchased my car I noticed my insurance stated that if the tracker was not working my insurance would be invalid, I had just changed the tracker ownership over to myself and asked them to check it was working, they said this was free of charge and sent an engineer to check it out. He started to search for the tracker and was about to start removing trim & dash parts I said I had only just bought the car and had seen how quite often once parts have been removed they do not always go back right, he was a nice individual said he understood, phoned tracker and they activated the tracker from their place and it registered on a unit in his car. Everything working withot any dismantling.
