I've asked this question before but never did anything about it and now cant find the right thread ( it was a tangent anyway :hehe:)

Now my Orange P7 is equiped with a titanium Flite saddle or razor blade as It now feels like.

It was fine when I rode ( the Bike) everyday, although having said that even then it was only comfy for a couple of hours.

Now i only ride it once a moth or so and im the wrong side of 35 ( but still the correct side of 40:yikes:) I need somthing a little kinder on the old backside.

So whats comfy for the occasional rider who likes to chuck the bike around a bit but not as heavey and bulky as an old arm chair

Cheers

I have the Specialized BG saddle on my S-Works. Not sure of the model, it's one step down from the real leather and sueade jobbies but before they turn into the blades (didn't like the look of blades, and the real coverings are a bit too hard to keep). I find it very comfortable even through the summer when I was only able to get out three times.

I'll check the model later if you want, going for a cycle in an hour anyway.

I used to have the flight ti many years ago. That bike must be eligible for classic insurance by now

I now have a similar ti bg saddle on my s-works. I think some lycra underpants are in order.

As suggested, you may find some, erm, padded shorts help....

I too used to have the flite ti, and whilst it looks horrendous the titanium rails flex a fair bit and the leather softens up so its fairly comfy. Better than the bontrager thats on my Trek these days anyway. Or is it just that my arse is 15 years older....

I picked up one of THESE from eBay a while ago. Boxed and brand new for about half this price.

I am an occasional cyclist only and have been feeling the 'strain' in the nether regions. This saddle is certainly a big improvement and likely to preserve my ability to father children more than my previous saddle!

The space between your arse bones (the ischial tuberosities - on which you sit) won't have changed in your time off the bike so if the flite was the right fit before it should be the right fit now.

The flite now comes with gel and a central cutaway so more comfy.

I rode a mate's bike with a fizik saddle and was very impressed recently.

I was having a few ..ahem..saddle problems myself earlier in the year after having not ridden as much but seems to have fixed itself since upping the mileage. Ride more???

I have the flite ti on my tracer, far better than some of the saddles they stick on the out of the box bikes. A good set of padded shorts is all you need

Riding more does the trick. I don't ride over the summer for 4 months. So when come back to uni and ride everyday it take a little while to get comfy again.
