Locked boot!

Had a problem with the book release catch not releasing all the time and decided I could fix it with the old tightening of the cable behind the boot light. Only problem now is that the boot won't release at all (Can't believe I decided to tinker!). There is a faint "clicking" so badge button seems to be working - does anyone have any ideas on alternative methods to open boot?? Obviously with this sensitive info, emails to my address would be better than posting. Thanks

will it not open by pushing down on the boot lid, pressing the button, and then see if it will release? it may be that the catch is being pulled on too much so you need to give it some slack to move the catch, if you can see what i mean?

Get inside the car - rip out the helmet holder and then feed some key hole surgeons tools through the small bolt hole, pull out the boot light and then pull the catch open. Easy.

I tried to use "the method" last weekend and failed, miserably!! Do they do lessons???

Had to use option 2 in the end.

You're right - I will ask them next time I'm there but I'm trying to stay away for a while (kids in sweetshop scenario).

Thanks for the responses, will try the "hold boot down" option tonight. Other than that I suppose the trip to not so local, but friendly dealer is on - luckily have half a tank of petrol left!
