Little button behind the steering wheel!
Discussion
Hi Everybody
TVR was always a dream! Last week – after a long search – I bought a TVR V8S and I’m really very, very happy about it. Unfortunately, as this is a 1993 model, there is no handbook or something similar sold along with. Now I do have two questions: is there any place in the web where I can order a kind of handbook for my V8S? Secondly I detected a little button right behind the steering wheel on the left side. It looks to me like a on/off button but there’s nothing indicated! For sure it’s not the seat heating button and it’s not the button for opening the hood or boot (all those buttons I already allocated). But the one I mean is right behind the steering wheel and I have no clue what this is meant for! Is there anyone who could provide some possibilities?
Thanks a lot and kind regards from Switzerland

Welcome to the wonderful world of the S... I'd recommend The S Bible by Steve Heath (I'm sure he'll be along with a link in minute). Only problem is when you realise how simple it is to do a lot of jobs on the car you'll end up spending ages getting greasy just for the fun of it!!
Not a V8 expert myself but is the button something to do with the lights on the instrument binnacle? A mate of mine has a Chimaera and the button is on the right of the wheel. It switches the dash lights on and off?

Congratulations on purchasing your V8S, I to have just purchased one, had it about a month now, I have owned quite a few different sports cars, a Marcos Mantara 4.0 V8, S2 Elise 135R and more recently a Honda S2000 to name a few. The S is so much fun I wish I had brought one earlier, it really doe bring a smile to your face and put the fun back in motoring. I just checked my handbook and the previous poster was correct, it is the dashboard instrument illumination control. Enjoy the car can you post a picture?

Yes if its a round knob that you turn, normally located next to the boot release, then its for turning on or off the dash lights, god knows why?
If not it could br something a prvious owner added, mine has an on off which so I can manually turn on the fan, turn it on and see if anything happens???

Hi Dave
Yes, this is a version built for outside UK. Due to the dealer who sold me this beauty, there should be between 30 and 40 cars of that kind (left steering) across Europe, most of them without catalyst... but maybe I know more after receiving this bible... we will see!
Cheers
