Sorry to hear another owner selling up. What happened? - only last weekend you were thinking about getting new springs

I guess now is just a pretty bad time to sell..

erm, bit of a givaway might be that some of those potential buyers might just have looked on this site now & again and saw that you paid £10'250 for the car in June without adding much value since!! Profiteering?
Also, we're only a month away from mid- winter..

and profiteering maybe just a bit ,but then the car did need a bit of work doing to it when i bought it in june ,door locks starter and alot of wiring defects which have now been done so i thought 11k was a fair price. would not have dreamt of selling untill my company started cutting back .

Sounds about right for a guaranteed sale, hold out for the asking price though.

Not sure about the price, but not many want to buy a convertible in this weather, suggest you wait 'til the Spring. PLUS you say that the majority of visiting punters didn't know what to look for on a Tiv. Bet they kicked the tyres though. Recon they were out for a quick ride out at your expense. Just my cynical view, having sold a few cars privately in the past.
It's so much easier to buy a niche market car than sell it.

seems odd though cos i have looked at the prices of other chimaeras for sale and this one is cheap so perhaps your right and winter is not the time to sell a convertable i'll give it a few weeks and give up till the spring my job may be better by then ,decisions decisions.

4.3's a very fine engine indeed, one of the best IMHO - so don't see why you should go any cheaper - nicely run in at 63 thou...

If you can possibly afford to DON'T sell.

I was in a similar position when I was made redundant at the end of August. Fortunately for me I saw the end coming and saved as much cash as I could in the meantime. I am now back in work and am very glad I didn't get rid of what I consider to be a good'un and a car I took years to save for.

just my opinion

For what it's worth as some one who was looking at Chimaera's the price wouldn't have put me off. I was looking for colour, spec and condition (same as one of the punters you've aready had look at the car) found the ideal car................ then had a child, with similar running costs to a knackered out Cerbera i.e. 5-6k a year

As others have said try to keep the car if at all possible, i'm sure that you'd miss it when it's gone
