Wheels!!!

Morning,

Got a bit of a fright last nite!! on my way home from seeing my mother in the hospital, I was driving on the motorway couple of cars behind a skip lorry, a load of stuff fell off the back and hit the car in front of me!! I managed to get out the way but hit the kerb and have managed to damaged both front and rear wheels on the drivers side, anyone have any spare wheels?? any help would be much appreciated.

Try contacting 1G racing www.1gracing.com/ - a US owner bought a M400 wheel from them for 450 USD only a couple of week ago.

Yep the quest for wheels threw this up on the USA owners forum. There's a claim that someone bought one a short while ago for USD $ 450. If that's the case its a steal. I've got all the wheels I need but I think its worth someone chasing it up.

just spoke to someone at dynamic motorsports in the states, the $450 is correct - $2100 for a full set, plus shipping vat and duty, so will still be quite expensive, around the £1600 mark.

Having gone to www.gto3.com I see there are all the details of the wheels, required offset, etc,etc. Do you think if I went to a specialist alloy wheel retailer in UK with this info I could buy a set of wheels. We shall see?

Enlighten me please. The cost of replacement wheels, as debated
many times on this forum for the M400 etc., for what they are, is costly.
"demon tweeks" performance catalogue for '05 is faced with
a wheel very similar to the factory items in question. Turn to
page 12 of the catalogue and the afore mentioned frontspiece
appears to be the "Fox R53", costing £158.63.
Which illustrates a huge cost difference, vis-a-vis, what are the comparative drawbacks for the R53's ?

I had to buy a front wheel recently, the cost of said wheel, and the ugly windscreen wipers are the only thing I've disliked about Noble ownership. The factory quoted £850+VAT for a front!, blaming the South African factory, which I thought was bullfeathers to be honest.

The drawback is that they won't make them to fit the Noble. I went around virtually every wheel maker/marketer and only found one who was prepared to make a wheel to fit the M12. The main problems are that they are 18", the rears are wide and they have relatively large offsets and finaly they are on 4 peg hubs. If they were 5 stud hubs there would ba a whole load more choice but basicaly there's no one out there who will make a set to those specs. Sorry that's not correct. If you want to pay the set up costs (guess £10K) they'll make you anything. The problem is unless you can garuantee selling 10 or more sets no ones interested.

Except that is Dymag - who were bold enough to make my first two sets and who have now supplied a few other cars here and in the states. These wheels - although not to my aesthetic taste - are the lightest and plenty strong enough for road use. The difference in the car shod with them is as compared with the standard wheels is significant and very noticeable.

Until the 1G wheels became available they were also the cheapest at roughly £500 per wheel.

So the options are the 1G wheels from the states as direct road wheel replacements or the Dymags if you are eager to get every bit of performance out of your car.

That's Kilograms. Stock are 11-12 kg. Dymags are 8-9 kg. 14 Kg saving overall.
