SORN questions

My motorcycle tax is due up at end of Nov, but the bike is garaged so I will SORN it.

My question is:- Do I have to SORN it in blocks of 6 months, or can I "un-SORN" it when I am ready ( ie in the Spring of 2006- after just 4 months). What form to I need to un-SORN my bike. Do the DVLA send reminders re SORNed vehicles?
I have never use SORN before hence the questions

When you get the tax reminder there will be instructions on how to SORN the vehicle. Alternatively you can contact the DVLA and SORN the vehicle that way. The SORN is valid for one year. I don't know if DVLA send a reminder or it's up to you to re-SORN it after 12 months. The SORN is cancelled as soon as you re-tax the vehicle ie. you don't need to separately cancel the SORN.

DVLA will send you a SORN reminder about 3 weeks before it's due to be renewed.
Previous post is quite correct that re-taxing the vehicle automatically cancels the SORN

Unless of course thr reminder V11 is lacking the relevent details on the yellow field in which case you've got to use the log book and do it online (enjoy) NOT.
