Hi-fi - NAD 514 cd player

My trusty old NAD514 CD player, which must be over 10 years old, decided to give up the ghost (again) last night - i think the laser has gone, plus none of the buttons work including the eject button, trapping my audioslave CD in there! Luckily i have an Arcam player upstairs so am not without music.

Just wondering - is it worth getting the old dear mended, or would it be more cost effective just to buy a new CD player?
